Shale Alliance for Energy Research Pennsylvania (SAFER PA)
is a not-for-profit organization formed to collaboratively identify and fund impactful shale research and analysis in Pennsylvania. We are generating independent science that reduces environmental impact and ensures safe, sustainable development of shale resources. SAFER PA is focused on technology development and technical analysis. Initial Funding Awarded and Projects Underway
SAFER PA was recently approved for funding in Pennsylvania's budget and is ramping up on several projects. One of the first efforts is the development a comprehensive yet concise public service document for private water well owners.
SAFER PA Strategic Advisory Committee Formed
A newly formed Strategic Advisory Committee will provide SAFER PA with independent advice on strategic direction, input on topics/projects and communication of findings.
R&D Technical Information Session Presentations
A technical briefing hosted by SAFER PA in April was an important forum to dialogue and share information on shale-related research and development projects.
